Tim Geenty
Branch Manager - Tauranga
Tim Geenty
Tim Geenty is the branch manager of Penske New Zealand’s Tauranga facility overseeing the complete branch facilities.
Having joined Penske in late 2010, he previously held the position of service manager before transitioning to the role of branch manager.
In addition to overseeing the Tauranga team, Tim is also facilitating the build of the new Tauranga branch, future-proofing the operations for years to come.
Thriving on new challenges and devising solutions for our diverse customer base, he is passionate about mentoring team members and creating a nurturing environment.
Prior to joining Penske, Tim was a diesel technician and then a station officer and national trainer with the New Zealand Fire Service, where he fostered critical decision-making and team development skills.

Andrew MacKenzie

Andrew McKenzie
Branch Manager - Christchurch
Having joined Penske New Zealand in early 2023, Andrew is branch manager of the Christchurch location and is responsible for its operations.
An automotive engineer, Andrew has over 30 years of experience as a branch manager having overseen various large teams, an aftersales and service manager, as well as having been managing director of his own business for almost a decade.
Andrew is passionate about building relationships with new and existing customers, while empowering his team to realise their own professional success, firmly believing in investing time and energy into building a great team culture.
Prior to joining Penske New Zealand, Brian held roles with VTNZ and Tourism Holdings Ltd in addition to being a professional rugby player for two years in France.

Christopher Sansome
National Retail & Fleet Sales Manager
Christopher Sansome
Chris Sansome is the national retail and fleet sales manager at Penske New Zealand.
Overseeing a team of seven sales professionals, he is responsible for the national truck sales business across both the Western Star Trucks and MAN Truck & Bus brands.
Tasked with developing opportunities with national key accounts across the country, Chris is passionate about engaging with customers at all levels to maximise opportunities and retention and ensure customers’ needs are met.
With an almost four decade-long career in truck rental and leasing, prior to joining Penske he held positions including national sales manager for Access Solutions, country manager for BPW Transport Efficiency, and general manager for New Zealand Trucks.

Craig joined Penske New Zealand at the beginning of 2023 as Auckland branch manager and is responsible for Auckland branch operations.
With a passion for employee culture and customer experience, he is driven each day to develop and deliver the best environment to foster great relationships with a vision to always improve on what we do, and grow ourselves and our business.
Having over 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry, including a number of years as service manager, Craig brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Penske New Zealand.
With considerable experience in the automotive industry, Craig is looking forward to making a positive difference to the heavy-vehicle industry and Penske New Zealand.

Joanna Bailey

Joanna Bailey
Joanna Bailey is the HR business partner for Penske New Zealand and is a member of the Penske New Zealand leadership team.
In this strategic business partnership role, she supports managers across the three national branches with her highly-specialised skillset in recruitment and retention, organisational development, remuneration and benefits, health and wellbeing, training, and performance management.
Jo is passionate about employee engagement and coaching leaders to nurture their people capability, and plan and manage personal and professional development opportunities through talent identification.
Prior to joining Penske New Zealand, she was the HR manager for a large transport company, Hilton Haulage Limited Partnership, where she led a team of seven and supported over 600 employees nationally.
A trained teacher, Jo taught in primary schools in New Zealand and England for four years before transitioning into the recruitment industry. As a senior HR specialist of almost 10 years, she also has vast experience in recruitment agency settings recruiting for businesses in the transport, engineering, legal, finance and architectural industries, and has successfully managed recruitment agencies in both Timaru and Christchurch.
Jo holds a Diploma of Teaching (Primary) and a Bachelor of Education and is an active member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.

Dean Hoverd is the national sales manager for Penske New Zealand’s complete on-highway portfolio of brands, including Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus, Dennis Eagle, and Detroit.
Since joining the organisation in 2012, he has been integral in the development and growth of our on-highway portfolio.
With over 40 years of experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry, Dean is focussed on working closely with our OEM partners to ensure we have the right products and solutions for our customers.
Prior to joining Penske New Zealand, Dean held various senior management positions within the heavy commercial vehicle and material handling sectors.
A passionate champion of Penske’s purpose and values, Dean is committed to providing outstanding customer service and delivering powerful solutions through our people, products, and partnerships.
Dean holds a Diploma in Business (Marketing) and is a long-serving member of the Motor Industry Association Heavy Vehicle Committee.

Gareth McCabe
National Off-Highway Manager
Gareth McCabe
Gareth McCabe is the national off-highway manager at Penske New Zealand overseeing a range of industries including energy solutions, construction and industrial, and marine.
Responsible for the growth and development of Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ mtu brand in these segments, he drives new equipment sales, projects, and aftermarket support.
Gareth is passionate about collaborating with customers to match their goals with the best solution Penske can offer.
Firmly believing that the mtu product range has an outstanding heritage backed by decades of development and refinement, he is excited by the opportunity to connect Aotearoa New Zealand businesses with mtu.
With over two decades of experience in capital plant sales and projects, Gareth started his professional life as a draftsperson before moving to project and sales roles at Gough Power Systems, and was most recently general manager of WaterPro, a specialist chemical equipment sales organisation.
Gareth holds an undergraduate degree in engineering/technology and a postgraduate diploma in business.

Brian joined Penske New Zealand in February 2023 and is responsible for operations across the three New Zealand branches in Auckland, Tauranga, and Christchurch.
A qualified engineer, Brian has considerable experience in managing mechanical and engineering workshops and large operational business units in a multi-site environment.
He also brings significant senior leadership experience in the road transport, logistics, aviation, and other related industries.
Brian has a results-driven focus on health and safety, effective leadership, and team engagement, and he thrives on delivering exceptional customer service and achieving financial performance targets.
Prior to joining Penske New Zealand, Brian held a number of senior roles with Air NZ, EnviroNZ, Turners & Growers, and Fliway Transport.
